Having the skills to effectively present information
is one of the most profitable business skills you can learn.
Exceptional communication skills is not reserved for
the academics or the big talkers, it is a strategy to building
long term business relationships. Lets face it all business
is about relationships. Without relationships we would have
no business. So instead of thinking about developing great
communication skills think in the terms of how can I create
great relationships?
Having the skills to stand up and present at any time
to any audience is not only a great confidence booster but
every time you get the chance to stand up and speak out
it is an opportunity to build relationships. An opportunity
to meet new contacts, an opportunity to be seen as the expert
in your industry and an opportunity to create business.
Standing up and speaking is exposure. It is one of the best
marketing tools around.
Tip 1. Always use a structure. A structure
assists you in the planning stages of your presentation
and keeps you on track until the very end. A good structure
ensures you look like a professional every time.

Seven Steps to Presentation Success

Be
proactive not always reactive to work demands. (Like don't
start the day on emails, start the day with set tasks before
you react to everyone's demands)
If
working from home set yourself real working hours (Just
because someone else likes to work 9-5 It doesn't mean that
is for you) If you like working from 1pm-8pm or 6am-1pm
then organise it like it is. Everyone has different family
arrangements or social commitments it is not one size fits
all.
Prioritise
Prioritise Prioritise
Take
time out with no demands (Even sometimes hobbies have demands
on you) try and think of an activity that you can do on
a regular basis that has no demands at all.
Book
holidays and family/social times first then slot in the
other things around them if you can. This way you always
have something to look forward to and it becomes a priority
if its in the diary.
